In this talk, we will explore the diverse approaches to dream work, aimed at deepening our understanding of dreams as embodied living stories within the psyche of individuals. Professionals will gain invaluable insights into the therapeutic considerations necessary for effectively working with dreams, enabling them to tailor their approach to the unique needs of each client.

 

Learning Outcomes

 

By the end of this talk, participants will be able to:

 

• Describe the therapeutic value of dreams as expressions of unconscious processes and as narrative representations of a client’s inner psychological world.
• Identify and compare major theoretical approaches (within a Jungian Framework) to dream work, outlining their underlying assumptions and interpretive aims.
• Differentiate between various dream-work methodologies and describe the clinical contexts in which each may be appropriately applied. 
• Apply ethical and clinical considerations when deciding how and when to introduce dream material within therapeutic practice. 
• Evaluate client-specific factors (such as therapeutic goals, readiness, and clinical presentation) when selecting and adapting dream-work interventions.
